Outstanding Students Can Benefit from Academic Competitiveness Grants

studentsDid you know there are grants available that can financially support undergraduate postsecondary students that have finished a course of study in high school?

The Academic Competitiveness Grants are provided by the U.S. Department of Education. To apply, an eligible student must be “enrolled in eligible schools that may be public or private nonprofit institutions of higher education. These can include but are not limited to universities, colleges, hospital schools of nursing, vocational-technical schools and for- profit institutions.”

In order to qualify for these grants, students need to be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens (meaning those with an Alien Registration Card or with a Arrival Departure Record). The student “must be enrolled at least half-time in a degree program. They also must be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and in their first or second year of study at either, a two-year or four-year degree-granting institution as previously described.”
